The 65th Jubilee Celebration was held at the Whangaparaoa Tennis Club on Saturday 25th November.
The theme for the evening was 1950’s and a good turnout of club members dressed in their finest 50’s garb, celebrated another milestone for the club.
After a sit down meal, Club President Brendon Forbes presented our existing and newly appointed Life Members with a Life Members badge and an engraved beer / wine glass in recognition of their outstanding service to the club.
Life Member, Larry Cross then ably assisted in the cutting of the 65th Jubilee Cake.
Thank you to new club member, Kerry Morris ( Eat Cake ) who created the amazing tennis bag cake for the evening.
Next up a brave bunch of wannabe dancers (and the odd professionals) learnt a few Ceroc dance moves. Thanks to Mary Kershaw and her dance partner Julian for teaching us some dance moves and for their patience!
The newly expanded Band on the Rum (now with bass guitar and keyboards) then kept the dance floor rocking into the night.
