Tennis Hot Shots – Under 5 years

Tennis Hot Shots is the national starter tennis program for New Zealand children.

Whangaparaoa Tennis Club Coach Ken McLeod, runs a private Tennis Hot Shots programme for children aged 3 to 4 years.

This programme is held on a Monday afternoon from 2.00pm to 2.30pm

Cost for a 6 week programme is $40.00

Next programme starts on Monday 15th February, 2021.

Hot Shots and Teen Tennis

Whangaparaoa Tennis Club coaches Ken McLeod & Nicolas Martin, run Tennis Hot Shots for children aged 5 to 14 years and a Teen Tennis programme for children aged 15 to 18 years.

Children enrolling in Tennis Hot Shots will use the club registration process and will be enrolled for Term 4, 2020 and Term 1, 2021.

This season Tennis Hot Shots runs from Monday 12th October, 2020 to Saturday 12th December, 2020 (excluding Labour Weekend Saturday) and then from Monday 8th February, 2021 to Saturday 10th April, 2021 (excluding Easter Weekend Saturday).

Junior Interclub

For juniors 8-18yrs who want to play weekly matches (a single and a double) in a team in the Tennis Northern junior interclub competition, which runs from October to March

Ages as at the 30th April 2021:

  • 10s and under mixed teams of four played on Wed 4pm
  • 12s and under girls and boys teams played on Sat (usually morning)
  • 15s and under girls and boys teams played on Sat (usually afternoons)
  • 18s and under girls and boys teams played on Fri 5pm
  • Premier teams (based on Configure Rankings grading rather than age groups) teams of 2 played on Sundays.

Teams have a coaching session with club coaches on Mon or Tues afternoons, time slots to be allocated.

An Elite interclub training session,  will be held on Thursday evening. Our club coaches may offer your child an invitation to attend the Elite interclub training.

Junior Interclub registrations must be completed by Sunday 20th September, 2020

Junior Winter Programme

Carrying on from last year’s very successful Winter Tennis coaching squads, our club coaches Ken McLeod and Nico Martin are offering a Junior Coaching programme for Term 3, 2020.

DATES: Monday 20th July to Tuesday 22nd September


SESSIONS & GROUPS

Red Group: Monday & Tuesday 3.30pm to 4.15pm

Orange Group: Monday & Tuesday 4.15pm to 5.15pm

Green Group (includes social & teen players): Monday & Tuesday 5.15pm to 6.15pm

Elite Group: Monday & Tuesday 6.15pm to 7.15pm

Children can train 2 times a week if they choose.


PRICES:

Red Group: $10 per session or $80 for the term
All other groups: $15 per session or $120 for the term

School Holiday Programme

Club coaches, Ken McLeod and Nico Martin will be running a 4 day school holiday programme during the next school holidays. Monday 18th January to Thursday 21st January

RED & ORANGE LEVEL: (6 to 9 year olds)
9am to 10.30am
$20 per session or $70 for 4 days

GREEN & YELLOW (10 to 15 year olds)
10.30am to 12.00 noon
$20 per session or $ 70 for 4 days
