Entries are now open for 2017 Tennis Northern Winter Interclub competitions. This year Tennis Northern are also offering a Thursday night Mens or Womens Doubles grade.

Whangaparaoa club members are welcome to make up their own teams. All entry fees, balls etc is covered by the team and not the club as with summer interclub.

Saturday Afternoon Doubles

Teams of 2 men & 2 women

Dates: Saturday 20th May 2017 (draws will be published by 15th May) / Last Match date 26th August 2017.

All matches are scheduled at 1pm on alternative Saturdays (depending on grades). Please note no games are scheduled on 3 June (Queen’s Birthday long weekend).

Team Composition: A minimum of two men & two women must be named. Reserve players do not have to be listed but have to be a club member with a Configure Ranking code and be of similar ability to those they have replaced.

Matches Played: One Mens Doubles & one Womens Doubles and two Mixed Doubles. First matches to be played on the day are the Mens and Womens Doubles.

Match Duration& Start Time: Each match to be two normal sets with a super tiebreaker to ten if one set all.

Grades: Teams will be placed in boxes of 6-8 teams graded by the standard of their player list. Once grades have been decided a reserve band will be put in place. This reserve band is a guideline and it will discourage teams from bringing in ‘gun’ players for specific matches. An unlimited number of reserves can be used, but effort should be made from teams that they are a similar level to permanently listed players for everybody’s enjoyment.

Weather: In the event of rain the match should be played at 1pm the following Saturday, unless an alternate date and time can be agreed by all parties. If the match is not played no points will be awarded.

Courts: TNR will try to schedule all matches to be played at club courts. It is the home team’s responsibility to ensure courts are booked for their match. Forrest Hill and Albany Tennis Park may be used.

Balls: Each team to supply one pair of new Wilson Australian Open tennis ball for the Mens or Womens Doubles. The same balls can then be used for the mixed doubles.

Results: All matches will be recorded online in the same way as Summer Interclub matches. Winning team captains are responsible for loading their result within 48 hours of the match being played.

Entry Fee: $100 administrative fee per team entered. This fee must be paid up front by teams to secure their places and must be paid in full.

Box Winners: Will receive four one-hour court hire vouchers (worth $40 each) for the indoor courts at the Albany Tennis Park.

Closing Date for Entries: Monday 8 May, 2017
