Level 3 – Step 1 club play

From 8.00am on Wednesday 6th October the club courts will be open to club members for players from 2 distinct household bubbles to be able to play on one individual court. This would allow singles games for two individual players from different household bubbles. It would also allow doubles games between members from two distinct bubbles.

Courts must be pre-booked online before play.

Welcome to the Whangaparaoa Tennis Club

Situated in the heart of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula at Edith Hopper Park, the Whangaparaoa Tennis Club offers 6 artificial grass floodlit tennis courts, a fully equipped clubhouse with licenced bar and plenty of parking.

The club runs organised social club play year-round and organises inter-club teams at all levels for Seniors, Juniors (8-19yrs) and Mid-Week players in the Tennis Northern competition, during the summer tennis season (September – April). Our club coaches run coaching programmes for all levels from beginners to advanced.  Club courts are available for limited public use at a cost of $5/hour per person, at times that the courts are not required for organised club play or by members of the club during casual play.

Hot Shots & Teen Tennis - Summer 2021 / 2022

Children enrolling in Hot Shots & Teen Tennis, will use the club registration process and will be enrolled for coaching sessions for the summer school terms (Term 4 & Term 1).

Registrations for Hot Shots & Teen Tennis are now open
COVID Level 3.1

We have received guidelines from Tennis New Zealand and Tennis Northern regarding safe tennis play at COVID Level 3: Step 1. The guidelines from Tennis NZ & Tennis Northern will allow us to start our Hot Shots & Teen Tennis sessions, on time, from Monday 18th October.

Our coaches, Ken & Nico, are allowed to coach, subject to a maximum of 9 in a group, per coach and no more than 4 players on a court. Because we have two coaches at each session we will easily be able to split the players into two groups and fulfil this criteria. Our coaches have redesigned the sessions to ensure players are distanced appropriately.

Both our coaches have been fully vaccinated and will be following the COVID safety rules closely.

Coaching Programmes

Private coaching and regular programmes are available with our resident professional coaches, Ken McLeod & Nico Martin. Regular programmes are available to club members and the general public.
