Programme Details
COURT LAB @ Whangaparaoa Tennis Club coaches Jon Speed and Ken McLeod, run a Hot Shots & Teen Tennis programme year round, during each of the 4 school terms.
Children enrolling in junior tennis, will use the club registration process and will be enrolled for 9 weeks of coaching sessions for Term 2, 2025.
There will be no Monday session on King’s Birthday weekend, so Monday sessions will only run for 8 weeks.
For Term 2, 2025 the junior programme runs from week beginning Monday 28th April to Sunday 29th June.
Group sessions are based on the colour / softness of the ball used for coaching. We have listed appropriate age groups as an indicator. Please contact Jon Speed at [email protected] if you need assistance choosing the correct group.

- Term 2 subscription fee has been set based on a minimum of 9 weekly coaching sessions during Term 2. There will be no Monday session on King’s Birthday weekend, so Monday sessions will only run for 8 weeks.
- Payment must be completed to confirm your booking.
- Group session numbers will be limited to approximately 12 – 16 children per session. With two professional coaches running each session your child will receive coaching at a ratio of 1 coach per 6 / 8 children.
- A “Tournament” session for children selected on the Tournament Pathway, will be held for each group on either Wednesday or Thursday. Our club coaches may offer your child an invitation to a Tournament session.
- An extra Sunday Match Play session is available each week, for children who have enrolled in a weekday afternoon session. There will be no Sunday matchplay sessions on 4th & 18th May.
- There will be no cancelled sessions. In the event the weather prevents play on court, our club coaches will conduct an indoor session, including indoor games, technique drills, tactics and video.
- Whangaparaoa Tennis Club is using Enrolmy software to administer and manage junior tennis programmes at the club. To register your children for junior tennis you will initially setup a profile on Enrolmy. Once your profile has been setup, you will easily be able to register your children for all junior tennis at the club, including summer Hots Shots and Teen tennis, school holiday programmes, winter coaching etc.
Tennis Racquets
COURT LAB is pleased to provide advice on purchasing the correct racquet.
Racquets will be available to try at the Hot Shots / Teen Tennis sessions.
Once you have chosen a racquet, you will be able to buy directly from COURT LAB at a discounted price.
