The 2023/24 seasons annual Mixed Doubles Club Championships were held on Sunday 26th November. We had an enthusiastic response with 10 pairings starting at 10am and playing through to 3.30pm. There were some great battles in the glorious New Zealand sunshine with the overall winners of the Open grade being Mike Mountain and Dani Quigley, although hotly contested by Dave Grace and Kelly Goodrick.
Well done to everyone who played at least 3 matches in a very competitive draw and also to the winners of the Open Grade Plate and the Consolation Plate.
Thank you to all the players who donated as always, some amazing snacks to get everyone through a tough day. Thank you also to our amazing volunteers who made the day possible, particularly Mark Battershill who ran the whole 3 competitions and Sarah Mayo who provided a spectacular lunch and liquid sustenance.
Once again the members of Whangaparaoa tennis club, whether players or volunteers, joined together to make a successful and enjoyable day.
